You have heard the song and seen the commercial, Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks. Well, to me that is spot on. Over the last 5 years, I have lived in Chesterland, Ohio. I bet I have been in the Ace store over 400 times getting things I need on the go. Every time I am there someone is there to help me and find just what I am looking for. They always take the time to help me with projects and get me the things I need to get the job done. I have never seen so many men and women all work together, time and time again, smile, and help a customer until they have found or fixed what they need. They will go over and beyond what you expect just to help you find the right paint, or get the right plumbing part, or even spend the time to explain how your septic tank works, and what you could do to help make it flow better. I am telling you, no matter what crazy thing I am shopping for, whether it's a part I need, or just a listening ear to bounce off ideas, someone is always there ready to help and tackle my problem with me. SILVER SKILLET: Chesterland, Ohio
If you have gone just once, you have no doubt had a fantastic meal. It does not matter if it was breakfast, lunch, or a wonderful Friday night dinner. It was served to you with a smile and an offer if "I" can get you anything before I leave. When you eat here, you are not going to get just a great home cooked meal, but you're going to be treated like family. Not the omg aunt betty is going to kiss my cheek family, but the come in, sit down, take a load off, and let us feed you and make you feel better...kind of family. The service is excellent and always with a smile, the food, let me tell you, I have eaten the menu and it is all fantastic. The coffee is hot, the place is clean, the owners and staff cook and serve with love and respect for all. When you're hungry, and you do not know what you want to eat, you just want it to be good. Walking in the Silver Skillet tell them Jim sent you and you want something good. Try the Ruben, or a fantastic homemade omelet. If it's Friday night get all you can eat Fish… Yummy. One thing is for sure, just like leaving the family table, if you leave hungry it's your own fault. Pulp Juice & Smoothie Bar: Chesterland, Ohio
Pulp smoothies are amazing. They can speak for themselves. But what sets this location apart from the others are the owners and staff that serve this community. They go far beyond what a restaurant would normally do. They work hard to provide a tasty treat, even when the customer has health restrictions. I applaud them how they honor our service men and women, the police and fire departments, mail carriers, and our priests and pastors of this community. We are all health consciencious now a days. When my car needed maintenance my first thought is...where can I go that I trust? The Quick Change Oil in Chesterland is the place to go. Tim, the manager, always takes great care of us. Even if its work that he doenst have the capibilities to do, changing breaks, cat converters, etc... he still takes the time to do what he can or reaches out to find a place that can do it. They are not one of those places that just takes your money or do services to meet a quota. He truly cares about your car, keeping your family safe, while being aware of your out of pocket charges. We can even feel comfortable to send our parents there without worrying if they will get ripped off. Some people can work on their own cars. Coffee Works: Chesterland, Ohio
Coffee Works is a neighborhood fixture in Chesterland. Right on Route 306, it’s a terrific place either to pick up something quick to go, or to stay, have a relaxed cup of coffee and mingle with neighbors. I’ve met old and new friends there, some of whom traveled from quite far away because everyone knows the spot. Kathy's sandwiches, salads, soups, and sweets are all delicious. The atmosphere is comfortable, warm and inviting, and the people who work there make sure they will prepare exactly what you ask for, from standard drinks to the custom concoctions. Coffee Works is locally-owned, and when you’re there it has all the feel of an old-school coffee shop. Chuck Works
US Window & Door: Chardon, Ohio
US Window & Door is a thoroughly professional property improvement company. Dave and his team offer more than window and door Installations. This year they were the contractors for the siding of a large building for which I am responsible. They did careful and very detailed work, including wrapping the windows and eaves in aluminum. The fit, finish and their attention to the smallest aspect of the installation all contributed to a very satisfying result. For the first few weeks people kept stopping in to say how great the building looked! Beyond my direct experience with them, I have heard only completely positive satisfaction with their work.
